One Year Older and Wiser Too . . .

We celebrated Mike's birthday last week by fitting in several of his favorite eating establishments (Burger Supreme, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and Tucano's --yes, all in one day!), seeing an IMAX movie, and some fun gifts (lots of tools and JAZZ/Celtics game in Feb.).

Nanna Comes to Town

Christmas night brought another special visitor to town for our family. As the snow poured down over Salt Lake our visitor flew over the housetops on Christmas night. She came bearing gifts, and this girl couldn't have been more excited. Unfortunately, a jet plane, rather than Rudolph, was flying Nana to town; and, as it turns out, technology isn't quite as foolproof as that ole' glowing red nose, and so we all had to wait while SLC International Airport cleared it's runways before we got the much anticipated phone call that Nana was pulling up into our driveway.

My mother came flew in to visit us early in the morning on the 26th, and we all enjoyed being spoiled by her!

Olivia got to go on a fun date to Jump on It (an extreme indoor play area), Krispy Kreme, and McDonald's. And we all enjoyed spending the whole day in Salt Lake with my brother Tim and his wife Kate. We met Tim at their apartment in the Avenues and walked down to eat lunch with Kate at her work, the Church office building. The COB has a great cafeteria with so much to choose from. After a yummy lunch we took the TRAX over to the Gateway. Once Kate was able to get off work to join us, we had fun doing a little bit of shopping and watching a 3D IMAX movie. Olivia refused to wear the 3D glasses, so I'm sure she was wondering why we brought her to see some lame fuzzy movie on the big screen. JT got a little overwhelmed by the big screen and loud noises, so I had to take him out, but we still had a great time.

After the movie we took TRAX back to Tim and Kate's and ordered delicious pizza from the Pie for dinner. Mike took the kids home to bed, so that I could have some more time talking and playing games with my Mom, Tim, and Kate. Thanks for making the trek to Utah Mom, we sure enjoyed having you!

Now the house is quiet, I need to take all my Christmas decorations down, and, I'll admit, I'm feeling a little blue that all the holiday visitors are gone, all the gifts are opened, and all the parties are over. Good thing Mike, Olivia, and I all have birthdays in the next month!

One night my Mom was here, we made homemade veggie pizza. My mom shared her delicious salad recipe with us. Spinach and mixed greens with red grapefruit, pomegranate seeds, red onion, and feta cheese. It is my new favorite salad. I thought our dinner looked so pretty, and healthy, that I'd take a picture. It's not often we eat this good around here ; )
